How to Remove Bird Shit or Bird Poop

The warm weather is upon us, the birds are back in town, and so is their bird shit leaving people wondering how to remove bird shit or bird poop from many different surfaces. Bird poop stains can be very difficult to remove form certain surfaces if you don't know the tricks to get them out. Like most stains the sooner you can get to cleaning the stain the easier it will be.

How to Remove Bird Shit or Bird Poop From Concrete

What you will need:

Hose
Liquid dishwashing detergent
Natural-fiber scrub brush
Sawdust
Broom and dustpan
Bowl
hydrogen peroxide
ammonia
eye dropper

There are many times, when cleaning the outside of your home, that you notice and abundance of bird poop on you sidewalk leading to your front door. Bird poop stains are a nasty eye sore that many would like to get rid of before company comes over. Follow the tips below and you should be able to remove those bird poop stains from the concrete.

To begin the stain removal process you should take your hose and spray off the concrete surface you would like to remove the bird poop stains from.
Next, you will want to squirt a large amount of liquid dishwashing detergent over the entire concrete surface. Ensure you have completely covered the bird poop stains.
Using the natural-fiber scrub brush, begin to scrub the bird poop stained concrete. This will work the liquid dishwashing detergent into the stains, thus loosening them.
Apply a large amount saw dust over the soapy surface of the concrete. Again ensure you have completely covered the stained area. The sawdust will absorb the water, soap, and bird poop. You can rinse the soapy water from the concrete with the hose, but the sawdust will spare your grass and the environment.
Allow the sawdust to sit and absorb the soapy water for about 20 minutes.
After the 20 minutes you should be able to sweep up the sawdust into the dustpan. If the sawdust is too wet you can let it sit for a little longer to make it easier to sweep.
Inspect the area. Most of the bird poop stains should be removed. For the remaining stains you will need to mix together 1 tablespoon 12 percent hydrogen peroxide and three drops of ammonia (you can measure the drops of ammonia with an eye dropper). Tip: Remember to never mix ammonia and bleach. The fumes the two chemicals make are very poisonous.
Pour the solution, you just created, over the remaining bird poop stains.
Again scrub the stains with the natural-fiber brush to loosen the bird poop the rest of the way.
After scrubbing the stains allow the solution to sit for a few minutes.
Again pour sawdust over the solution to absorb the chemicals. You do not want to rinse these chemicals into the grass.
Allow the sawdust to sit for a few minutes to soak up all of the liquid.
After the sawdust is dry enough sweep it into the dustpan.
The bird poop stains should be completely removed from the concrete, but if any remain continue to repeat the steps until you are satisfied with the results.

How to Remove Bird Shit or Bird Poop From Car's Paint

What you will need:

Hose with spray attachment
Car cleaning fluid
Soft cloth

It does not matter if you drive the nicest car or a piece of junk no one likes to have bird poop stains on their car. Many with the nicer cars want to be a little gentler when removing the eye sores, but the stain removal processes is the same for new paint finish or old paint finish.

Using the hose spray the entire car with water. The water will soften the bird poop stains, which will make it easier to gently remove them.
Pick out a car cleaning fluid. Any one you choose will be just fine for this stain fighting process, but if you purchase a car cleaning fluid with natural ingredient it will be gentler on the cars paint finish.
Mix the cleaning solution of your choice as stated on the directions.
Dip a soft cloth into the cleaning solution. Ensure the cloth is entirely saturated with the solution.
If you have a really stubborn stain you may want to apply some of the cleaning fluid directly to the bird poop stains.
Allow the cleaning fluid to sit for about 5 minutes.
Wash the entire car as you normally would with the soft cloth. The soft cloth will allow you to gently clean the car without hurting the cars paint finish.
Rinse the entire car with the hose.
Inspect the car. If there are any bird poop stains left on the car spot treat each with the soft cloth and the cleaning solution until they are removed.
