Removing Tomato Stains From Plastic Tupperware
Generally, Tupperware containers can stand up to years and years of wear and tear, making them ideal for home use. So long as the Tupperware containers are used properly, then they can be used for years. They are known for being durable, easily maintained.
However, that reputation seems to be no match for the unsightly stains left behind by tomato sauce. The red stains are caused by the lypocene in the tomatoes.
Not only does this leave behind the red or orange-colored stain in the plastic containers, but it generally leaves a residual odor. However, these stains can be removed with basic home supplies.
In order to remove tomato stains from plastic you will need to keep handy a towel, a clean sponge, white vinegar, baking soda, and bleach. You will also need dishwashing detergent and a kitchen towel.
Using Sunlight to Remove Tomato Stains from Plastic
The first thing needed for removing tomato stains from plastic is sun. Direct sunshine functions as an effective bleaching agent for removing tomato stains from plastic and is natural.
You can place the stained Tupperware on a towel and sit it outside in direct sunlight. It can also be placed on a towel and left near a window. The Tupperware should be left for a few hours for adequately removing tomato stains from plastic containers.
If the sun is not enough to remove tomato stains from plastic, then you can use a clean sponge, soaked in white vinegar. You should then sprinkle baking soda on one side of the sponge, covering it entirely.

Leave the bleach inside of the container for two to three minutes. Once this is done, rinse the container thoroughly with cold water.
